White Paper Brief — Deepening the Consilience

The white paper already exists in draft: an introduction and thirty-one chapters, written in a literary, philosophical voice that is genuinely ours and must survive. What it is not yet is an investor document. This brief tells the writers exactly what to keep, what to generalize, what to add, and where.

The shape of the revision

Do not flatten the book into a pitch. Instead, give it four movements and let investors find the business woven through the philosophy:

  1. The Conviction — why intelligence should be free and safe, local and lasting. (Existing chapters: the mission, consilience, sovereignty versus global, local community AI.) Mostly written; needs sanitization only.

  2. The Craft — how it is built: the schema layers, the vanishing surface, typography as DNA, the design system, language-agnostic rendering, the reading experience. Mostly written; strongest material in the book.

  3. The Engine — the systems bench: orchestration, retrieval intelligence, audio, imagery, translation, story, publishing, the recursive improvement loop, the revenue agency. Written but fragmented; consolidate and elevate.

  4. The Market — NEW movement. The two directions, the empty ecosystem, the economics of locality, what exists today versus what is direction. Almost entirely missing; this is the bulk of the new writing.

Universal sanitization passes

Run these as editing passes across all chapters before any new writing begins:

  • Persona pass. The two central personas and all named agents, voices, family members, operators, and council seats appear throughout. Replace with "the team," "the builders," roles described by function ("a reviewing agent," "a marketing council"), or the system's own voice.

  • Model-and-vendor pass. Specific model names, parameter counts, quantization levels, embedders, rerankers, proxies, databases, and cloud platforms are named in at least ten chapters. Replace with class language: "a large local model," "our trained embedding models," "a routing layer across local and frontier providers."

  • Numbers pass. Remove every absolute count — packages, servers, ports, budgets, costs-per-install, parameter counts. Convert measured results to percentages where they survive scrutiny; delete the rest.

  • Geography-and-hardware pass. Cities, hardware models, network tools, and home topology all out. The Tesla generator story stays — it is historical and it is the thesis in miniature.

Chapter-by-chapter notes

ChapterVerdictNotes for writers
IntroductionKeep, sanitizeThe Eliot frame and generator story are the soul of the book. Remove personas; reframe 'not a product' so it doesn't undercut the market movement — it is not a product *only*.
Free and SafeKeep, sanitizeStrong. Strip persona and hardware specifics. Add one passage on why protection-first architecture is also defensibility.
ConsilienceKeep, sanitizeStrip personas. Add how role-based architecture scales beyond its founders.
Neuromorphic DirectionKeep, light touchInvestor-ready energy thesis. Remove parameter counts. Frame clearly as direction, not roadmap promise.
Embedding SovereigntyKeep, heavy sanitizeThe three-layer sovereignty frame is excellent; every named vendor and model must go. This chapter becomes the defensibility argument: nothing in the stack can hold us hostage.
The Vanishing SurfaceKeep, sanitizeStrip personas. Otherwise close to final.
Schema DevelopmentKeep, compressGeneralize tooling names. Compress; the lay reader needs the idea of layered schema, not all the layers.
Discovery AlchemyKeepOne of the best chapters. Add one paragraph connecting wisdom-building to retention without cheapening it.
Sovereignty vs GlobalKeep as-isAlready fully generic. Anchor chapter for the Market movement.
Local, Community AIKeep, sanitizeRemove city and hardware. Expand the community-safety argument: minimal radius, community-integrated norms, locally accountable.
Design SystemKeepStrong. Add a line on the design system as licensable craft.
Pretext as DNAKeep, light touchGeneralize the package name. The determinism argument is a differentiator; keep the depth.
Telegram PocketKeep, expandThis becomes the bridge into the Market movement. Add the ecosystem-scale framing and the in-market status. Remove internal campaign mechanics.
Language-AgnosticKeepInvestor-ready. Generalize the embedder name. Add addressable-market framing by language.
System OverviewHeavy rewriteCurrently the most exposed chapter: hardware, cities, ports, proxies, internal names. Rewrite at the altitude of 'a nerve center on one efficient machine, with graceful fallback to frontier providers.'
Self-Recursive LoopKeep, sanitizeThe self-improving system is a cost-structure story investors will love. Strip gate weights and persona approvals; keep the loop.
Expert JacketsKeep, sanitizeStrip all persona names. Keep the jacket-as-constraint idea.
Role CatalogMerge or cutToo internal. Fold its best material into Expert Jackets; do not publish the roster.
The AgencyRewriteThe integrated marketing council is a genuine differentiator. Remove campaign names, budgets, and unit costs; describe the OODA loop, the daily kill-or-scale discipline, and attribution as a built-in capability.
The ChronicleReframePresent generically as the story engine's flagship demonstration: long-arc consistency, multi-format publication. Cut founder-narrative depth; no world or character names needed.
FolioKeepInvestor-ready. The typography moat chapter.
MDX PipelineKeep, compressStrong capability story; compress technical steps, keep the idea that any book becomes living, adaptive text.
Poetry DetectionKeep, compressWonderful proof of craft depth. Keep examples; they are public domain.
Image GenerationSanitizeRemove provider names and auth details. Keep composable art direction and character consistency.
TTS NarrationSanitizeRemove model names. Keep the tiered local-first voice architecture — it is a sovereignty proof.
API CatalogCompress, sanitizeBecomes a short 'platform surface' chapter; vendor names out, capability classes in.
MCP InfrastructureCompressKeep the interoperability thesis: we speak the open protocol of the agent era. Cut the inventory list.
Package InventoryCut from public editionCounts and internal names. Its one investor sentence — one codebase, many products — moves to the multi-tenant chapter of the Market movement.
Links and CodebasesCut from public editionUseful for the student pack; not for investors.
Agents' Own WordsCut from public editionBeautiful internally; too personal and raises narrative risk in a public document.
Student SetupCut from public editionOnboarding material, not white paper material.
Reading PathRewriteRebuild as the reading path for the four-movement structure.

New chapters to write

  1. Two Directions — the master narrative chapter: outward into the ecosystem, inward into the home; how each funds and proves the other.

  2. The Empty Ecosystem — the market chapter for the wedge: an ecosystem approaching a billion users, native payments, and no serious reading-and-listening incumbent; our early paid tests framed honestly as small, real, and attributable, in percentages only.

  3. The Economics of Locality — the market chapter for sovereign: energy efficiency as price floor, locality as safety and privacy, the household and community as the unit of deployment, memory-over-time as the compounding asset no subscription can replicate.

  4. The Systems Bench — a consolidated tour of the deployable systems (one page each, drawing directly from the one-pagers in this pack), each marked live, working, or directional.

  5. The Translation Work — the new translation service and the classical-epic rendering as its flagship demonstration; literary translation as both product and proof of the intelligence stack.

  6. What Is True Today — a short, disciplined chapter separating live capability, measured result, and stated direction. The chapter that earns the rest of the book its credibility.
